Dr. Gary understands the challenges that travel can pose for families and is pleased to offer telehealth consultations for patients outside Melbourne. This service, available upon request, provides convenient access to Dr Gary’s care from the comfort of your own home, ensuring that your child receives the best possible treatment, no matter where you are.
What is Telehealth?
Telehealth is a consultation with your healthcare provider conducted through phone or video call. It allows appointments to take place when the doctor and patient are not in the same physical location, offering a convenient and contactless experience from the comfort and safety of your own home. Many scans can be reviewed online, making it easier to assess and plan your care. For post-operative patients located outside of Melbourne, follow-up appointments with Dr. Gary can often be conducted via telehealth. Please note not all conditions can be assessed via Telehealth. When making your enquiry, our team will do their best to accommodate your request.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you must have a valid referral to see Dr. Gary Nattrass. Dr. Gary cannot see your child without one.
If you don’t have a referral yet, please contact your GP to request one. If you have any questions about the referral process, feel free to reach out to us.
For a telephone consultation, ensure you have access to a free line for the duration of the call.
For a video consultation, you’ll need:
- An internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data)
- A device with a camera and speakers, such as a desktop computer, tablet or smartphone.
- An email address to receive instructions and links for the call.
We use Zoom for all video consultations. You will receive an email with a calendar invite that includes the Zoom link for your appointment. If you need assistance with setting up Zoom, feel free to contact us.
Regular consulting fees apply for a telehealth appointment.
The initial consultation costs $280 and a review consultation costs $180. If you are eligible for the Medicare rebate you may receive approximately $84 from your initial consultation and $42 from your review consultation. Please note, we do not bulk bill.
To book a telehealth appointment, simply fill out the contact form on our website. When selecting ‘location,’ the drop-down menu will provide a telehealth option. You can also contact our clinic via phone or email to specify your request. Once your appointment is scheduled, you’ll receive confirmation and further instructions on how to prepare for your telehealth consultation.
Please note, all scans and additional documentation must be provided to the clinic before the appointment.
There is no need to contact our office. When Dr Gary is ready to attend the consultation, we will contact you directly at your prearranged contact details.
If you do not receive a call at your scheduled appointment time, please contact our clinic to confirm your appointment. There may be unforeseen delays, but we will do our best to accommodate you as soon as possible. If needed, we will reschedule your appointment.
